As part of the company’s youth empowerment initiative, Readymix, concrete manufacturer and raw materials supplier in Brunei Darussalam donated BND1,040 to Bantu and Brunei Council on Social Welfare (MKM) to provide academic assistance to underprivileged children, yesterday. The donation in the form of vouchers will be used to provide 50 children with new school uniforms, school books and stationaries.

Readymix representative Zara Laila binti Abdul Hadi presented the cheques in a ceremony at the company’s office in Jalan Pengiran Babu Raja. Bantu founder Hajah Normah Seria Hayati binti Pehin Jawatan Dalam Seri Maharaja Dato Seri Utama (Dr) Haji Awang Mohd Jamil Al-Sufri, and MKM’s Head of Children Committee Zubaidah binti Dato Haji Abu Zar and senior committee member Siti Razidah binti Haji Mohammad received the donation.

Zara Laila binti Abdul Hadi said “The company is thankful for the partnership that we have with these charity organisations. We have previously worked with Bantu and MKM on other projects. They have the resources required to fulfill the company’s mission in providing these academic necessities to these children as they work closely with the families themselves with years of experience.”

Readymix practices corporate social responsibility in which the company is devoted in the concept of giving back since its establishment in 1984.
